DESCRIPTION: The Sanpete County Probate Court recorded the standard actions taken in probate matters in three separate bound volumes: Guardians Record, Will Record, and Administrator's Record. In each book preprinted forms were filled out to describe the actions taken. Estate settlements for persons who died intestate were recorded in Book 1, Administrator?s Record. Guardianship cases were recorded in Book 2, Guardian?s Record. And estate settlements for persons whose estates were probated according to the terms of a will were recorded in Book 3, Will Record. Standardized forms describe the basic orders, decrees, oaths and letters associated with the settlement of the estate or guardianship appointment. Book 3, Will Record includes the probate of wills for only eight individuals: Niels C. Jensen, Ole P. Larsen, Peter Hansen, John E. Metcalf, Soren C. Hansen, and Christopher Bernard Hansen. The Guardianship and Administrator Record Books contain a few more records.
