DESCRIPTION: The United States Department of Education has a program of assistance for people classified as emergency immigrants. Specific guidelines must be met to fit this classification, and the program is administered in Utah by Educational Equity. The grants are used by school districts for planning, developing, and evaluating projects to assist the educational needs of immigrants. These files contain requests, which document the number of qualifying students, from school districts for funds and the apportionment of the federal money among those districts which are granted funding.
