DESCRIPTION: These report forms are completed for the Uniform Crime Reporting System and are compiled into an annual report by the Bureau of Criminal Investigations and submitted to FBI and the NCIC. This form includes the numbers of crimes committed in each year in the following categories: criminal homicides, forcible rape, robbery, assault, burglary, larceny or theft, and motor vehicle theft. Report shows population, month, year, and totals for each offense. This report also contains: Supplementary Homicide Report; Law Enforcement Officers Assaulted Report; and Arson Offenses Known to Law Enforcement.

This retention is based upon the administrative needs expressed by the Bureau. Since the Archives receives the annual "Uniform Crime Report" compiled by BCI from these report forms, it is unnecessary to maintain these forms for research purposes.
