DESCRIPTION: These records document the process of removal of hazardous substances. They also document remedial actions taken when hazardous substances are, or will be, released into the environment. These actions are authorized under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act of 1980 and under 40 CFR 300.

These records include correspondence, memoranda, water analysis test results, soil analysis test results, copies of contracts to clean up specific sites, letters of agreement between the state and the Environmental Protection Agency as to terms of clean up, maintenance, decommission, and decontamination of sites; and information as to contaminated sites in other states.
