TITLE: Certified Local Government certification files

ARRANGEMENT: Chronological by year, thereunder alphabetical by local government name.

DESCRIPTION: This series documents the process a local government must follow to become a Certified Local Government (CLG). Certification requirements include passing a historic preservation ordinance and appointing a historic preservation commission. Certified cities and counties are eligible to apply for federal matching grants for historic preservation activities. The CLG certification files are used to ensure CLGs continue to meet the minimum certification requirements. Information may include copies of preservation ordinances, resumes for commission members, program reviews, correspondence, and certification agreements.
