TITLE: Fishing and hunting permits

DESCRIPTION: These are copies of permits issued to applicants of special hunts and to individuals holding regular hunting or fishing licenses documenting their eligibility to hunt and/or fish. When the original permit is issued, it must accompany the license of the person so that they may legally participate in the hunt. Information includes name, address, telephone number, physical characteristics, type of license held, and driver's license number.

This disposition is based on the use of the permits as an audit trail to balance against incoming revenue. Records Disposition Request (RDR) 65-19 mandated a retention of 3 years for all special and regular fishing/hunting permits. Utah Code Annotated, section 23-4-6 called for a 5 year retention period, which has since been repealed.
