TITLE: Vision screening for public school children
DATES: 1989-
ARRANGEMENT: Alphabetical by screening site, thereunder by surname
DESCRIPTION: Vision screening of public school children is conducted by the Vision Skills Specialist from the Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind. The screening takes place in public schools or in other community centers. This is done in order to identify children with eye problems who may need special schooling. Included in the screening is the functional vision report (series 9765). The school maintains these records regardless of whether the tests were positive or negative. The records of children whose eye problems are severe enough to be helped by the Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind are maintained separately.
